Snapshot Lesson Observation Guide
Lesson delivery in the classroom is the most significant factor when considering successful pupil outcomes. Therefore, the approach to capturing teaching and learning has to be just right. If our lesson observations do not accurately reflect the daily business of our setting, then how can we expect our feedback to be useful? We also want to promote personal improvement and growth, with our teaching team receptive to productive dialogue. If we only focus on ‘performance’ and appraisals, then we may find that our lesson observations can become a verification exercise rather than an opportunity to improve teaching and learning.
