According to the paper 'The 100-year life'(Gratton and Scott, 2016) creativity and learning, especially the ability to unlearn and rethink, are essential skills in reconsidering the way we live. In today's over programmed, heavily assessed catch up curriculum, there is little space for children to apply their imagination through creative thinking and application. It takes courage from educational leaders to look to the future and imagine the world their students will grow into. In this talk we will lay the foundations for why creativity is vital to children's learning and hear from two educational leaders, David Huntingford, Headteacher from William Ford Junior School and Rev. Gail Thompson, CEO of Millennium Community Solutions, on their experiences and lessons of creating the spaces and opportunities for children to apply their imagination.
