Professor Gosia Kwiatkowska

Gosia is passionate about breaking down barriers to learning and enabling every learner to achieve their potential. Her own experiences as a neurodivergent student, who often found school challenging, inform her empathy and her commitment to learner-first approaches that combine pedagogy and technology to build confidence, motivation, and opportunity. As Director of the Rix Inclusive Research Institute at the University of East London, Gosia leads action-based, co-produced research that brings together academics, practitioners, and people with lived experience of disability. With her team, she has co-developed inclusive technologies such as Rix Wiki, Rix Easy Survey, and Rix Easy Course, now used across education, health, and social care to support digital inclusion, self-advocacy, and person-centred practice.
Her work influences policy and practice nationally and internationally, with partnerships ranging from UK local authorities, NHS trusts, and Disabled People’s Organisations to collaborations with ministries and universities in Uzbekistan, Egypt, Ghana, Pakistan, and the United States. Gosia’s leadership reflects a clear belief: inclusive design and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) are key to transforming education systems and shaping a more accessible future.
