The personal and academic impact of assistive technology in English and literacy
For teachers, SEN professionals, literacy and curriculum leads. We will focus on the improvement of student wellbeing and academic achievement via state-of-the-art assistive technology to support reading and writing.
We will set the scene relating to the global challenges of low literacy, the benefits of normalising assistive technology both in and out of the classroom, sharing research findings and discussing the ways that assistive technology can be used as a pre, peri and post writing support.
We will finish with examples of how it can be used as part of a wider strategy of support around the user, whether that be a child or an adult. Attendees will leave the session excited and with a clear vision of how we can all work together to set the standard in literacy, so no one is left behind.
