Computing meets climate innovation: One multi-academy trust’s approach
Join us in conversation with Emma Darcy, Director of Technology for Learning at Denbigh High School, Kamona Karim, Teacher of Computer Science at Putteridge High School and two Year 10 students, Iesha and Shannon, all representing schools within Chiltern Learning Trust. The Innovate for Climate Change course, which enables students to create a prototype app, is taught across 16 schools in the MAT.
Attendees will hear how the free, ready-made resources support the trust’s climate and sustainability goals. The students will share how it has inspired their decision to take GCSE computer science and not only built their confidence, resilience, and team building skills, but also made them feel empowered to make a real difference by giving them the tools to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
