Imogeen Denton is the Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at Birmingham City University (BCU). She has over 20 years' experience working with marginalised communities, particularly those experiencing multiple layers of disadvantage. Developing and implementing effective strategies to reduce inequality and advance social justice are key areas of focus in her current role. Imogeen's career to date includes working in local government undertaking community planning, developing employment and skills initiatives. From 2016 to 2018 Imogeen was a member of the Council of Governors for a large NHS Foundation Trust and has supported the development of joint service centres involving the colocation of NHS and social care services. Imogeen is passionate about outdoor sport, the environment and the benefits of both to physical and mental health and wellbeing. Imogeen is a member of the Midlands Committee for the Royal Yachting Association; and has recently been appointed as a Regional Advisor to the National Trust. Imogeen is also a proud supporter of the Black Talent Awards.
