Gill supports two interrelated EdTech communities in Europe, fostering knowledge exchange and developing communities of practice. The 1Edtech community develops and maintains open standards (such as learning tools interoperability LTI) to deliver a flexible learning ecosystem, and EUNIS is a professional association for all stakeholders delivering the digital infrastructure for higher education. Previously Gill directed an advice and training support service for Jisc, a membership organisation providing digital solutions for UK education and research. She has led research and EdTech projects in areas such as assessment and feedback, curriculum design, course management, learner records, learning spaces and learning analytics.
